5 warning signs that could be a sign of colon cancer
When TikTok user Radwa Oda shared her colon cancer diagnosis, her goal was to help others recognize the symptoms she herself had overlooked. While it’s often associated with older people, colon cancer can affect anyone—and early symptoms are often overlooked.
1. Change in stool shape
If your stools become consistently thin or pencil-shaped, this could be a sign of a blockage in your colon. One-time changes are normal, but if the narrowing is persistent, see a doctor.
2. Disturbed toilet habits
Sudden, unexplained changes in bowel habits—such as frequent diarrhea or difficulty passing stools—could be more than stress or diet. If this persists for more than two weeks, consult a doctor.
3. Constant fatigue
Fatigue after a long day is normal, but if you feel exhausted despite resting, it could be a sign that your body is fighting a serious illness like cancer. It may be accompanied by dizziness or shortness of breath.
4. Abdominal pain
Radva says she initially ignored her abdominal pain, blaming it on a tight bra. Recurring pain in the same spot—especially low down—could be a sign of a tumor blocking the colon.
5. Persistent bloating
. Bloating that doesn't go away or gets worse for no apparent reason could mean a tumor is blocking your digestion. Feeling full quickly or experiencing gas are also signs that shouldn't be ignored.
Don't wait!
Colon cancer is curable if detected early. If you notice any lasting changes in your digestion, see a doctor. Listening to your body could save your life .
