Oh, as usual, I am looking forward to the arrival of summer. But in practice I can only enjoy it during the first few days. I consider myself lucky if summer comes early. I will explain why. My body reacts badly to mosquito bites. After another bite, I suffer from unbearable itching and inflammation of the skin for several days. That is why I am happy about every warm day, while these annoying insects have not yet woken up.
To alleviate my situation, I started trying all sorts of ways to fight mosquitoes. At home, I save myself with mosquito nets or special devices that repel insects. But I can't hide between four walls all the time, especially since I love summer entertainment.
My main task is to prevent mosquitoes from biting me. Here are the smells they can't stand:
Pour 100 grams of valerian or camphor into an aroma lamp and the large space around you (for example, a hangar) will remain free of insects.
If you go out for a walk and forget your mosquito spray, take young rowan and bird cherry leaves. Rub them in your hands, then apply the resulting paste to exposed areas of your skin.
Essential oils of eucalyptus, clove, anise and pure basil also repel mosquitoes - both indoors and on the skin. Body solution: 5-10 drops in 200 ml of water. In closed rooms: pour the oil into an aroma lamp or drop a few drops into the fire. A piece of paper soaked in essential oil also helps.
Tomato and elderberry leaves are also excellent remedies. You can even rub tomato leaves on your skin, but this does not apply to elderberry.
Insects are afraid of the smell of conifers. If you are in nature, burn a few sprigs of juniper.
Cedarwood oil is also useful.
You can wash yourself with a decoction of wormwood roots and leaves.
Eucalyptus extract also works great against mosquitoes — you can use it in a fumigator.
Vanilla tincture protects not only the skin of adults, but also of children.
All of the methods listed above really work. They are a great salvation when you don't have the opportunity to buy specialized sprays.
