When Melissa Gilbert met Rob Lowe in the early 80s, she was already famous for her role as Laura Ingalls in Little House on the Prairie. He was one of Hollywood's most promising young leading men thanks to his appearances in The Outsiders and soon after, as part of the Brat Pack.

It was love at first sight, and their relationship quickly took on the air of a modern-day fairy tale: two young Hollywood stars, beautiful, talented, adored… and madly in love.
